‘David “Chino” Villorente represents Brooklyn to the fullest. When he travels the world to lecture about graffiti art—or paint a little something at an exotic locale here and there—you can SMELL Brooklyn oozing out of his pores. I know because I’ve traveled to some exotic locales with this man on behalf of paying tribute to the culture that has become the fabric of so many of our lives. There’s a firm aura of respect that Mr. Villorente exudes, but it is coupled with a smile and a pound. Brooklyn is a land of Diplomats and hustlers and hard workers who don’t need a helping hand. Brooklyn builds things from scratch and what they’re able to craft is often superior–which is difficult for me to say as a card-carrying Queens cat. Brooklyn gets it in and a show that Mr. Villorente has curated, Brooklyn Yes Indeed, features a gang of gifted visuals artists who hail from Brooklyn. If you’re in New York this Friday and you’re real, you’ll show your face.’
