Record Store Day ’14

Record Store Day 2014 is around the corner, and in celebration of the festivities, Coalmine has paired up with Fat Beats and the multisyllabic mic fiend Pharoahe Monch for a limited edition release of “Get Down,” produced by Australia’s Aria Award Winning M-Phazes. The track, which features scratches courtesy of DJ Revolution of The World Famous Wake Up Show is the lead single taken from Coalmine’s ten year anniversary compilation, Unearthed, which is now available for pre-order via iTunes, Fat Beats and UGHH. “Get Down” will be limited to just 1,000 units so act fast and refer to either of the buy-links below to reserve your copy! For those that prefer their music in the digital format, “Get Down” becomes available for digital download through all major digital retailers next Tuesday, April 22nd.

And for those that noticed an uncanny resemblance between the artwork for “Get Down” and James Brown’s Plays Nothing But Soul EP circa ’68, please give yourself a warm round of applause. Taking some of the track’s production elements and scratch phrases into consideration, it was only right to credit the originator. And pay close attention to their gaze.. wonder what they’re both looking at, cause they seem to be staring in the exact same direction.

“I named my new son James Joseph Brown II. I think he’s going to be a lot better than I was.”

Excellent blog! Do you possess any tips for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start out my own, personal site soon but I’m just a little lost on everything.
Could you recommend starting with a free of charge
platform like WordPress or take a paid option? There
are numerous options on the market that I’m totally overwhelmed ..
Any ideas? Bless you!

Before there was the Swoosh, before there was NIKE, there were two visionary men who pioneered a revolution in athletic footwear that redefined the industry. In 1964 Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight combined their passion for athletic performance and innovation to create a company focused on furthering the performance of every athlete. Their mission is “To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world” – and if you have a body you are an athlete. It’s this mission that has lead to some of the world’s most innovative products, and the constant evolution of global sports. NIKE continues to set the bar with optimum athletic performance in furthering its position as one of the world’s most recognized brands.
