Two-for-two in the championship round, and I’m back to pick the Super Bowl! A New York team upsets the NFC en route to play the all-mighty and already crowned New England Patriots. Where have we seen this matchup before? Unlike 2007, this Patriots team isn’t storming through opponents, but Giselle’s husband has still guided them back to the big game despite a defense that’s easier to penetrate than Lindsay Lohan.
Vegas: NE (-3) We already saw this matchup in week 9, when the Giants went into Foxboro and pulled out a last second victory in large thanks to Eli Manning’s final drive. With this game having been three months before the Super Bowl, a few things have changed:
1) This game will not be played outdoors at Foxboro.
2) The Giants were without Ahmad Bradshaw, who led the team in rushing despite missing a month of action.
3) The Patriots had a healthy Rob Gronkowski, arguably the scariest weapon in the NFL this season, who is now hampered by a bum ankle.
In the end, we’ll be facing the same outcome as week 9 and Super Bowl XLII, as the Giants passing attack tears apart a secondary manned by wide receivers. Brady keeps it close, but Eli will be the one standing victoriously in the city formerly run by big brother Peyton.
Pick: Giants 28, Patriots 21.
